After all the rains went away
a little drop still in the breezes swayed
after all that was thrown across
a reign of peace was all that stayed
A mighty presence in the doom
the dirges binding the day
a still pool in the forest
with nothing to fear again.
Memories of the waging war
scarred across its face
Memories of the burning scar
that warred on its face
Bonds of glory all forgotten
in the want of sleep in all those days
Memories and memories that still mar
the beauty of that race.
Why do they fight so?
Why do they die so?
Oh, what is worth the life of them,
of their kin, that they squander so!!
Why do they kill so?
Why do they yell so?
Oh, why don't see what a child does,
that they reap just as they sow!!
The cry of life did echo the ring
of the bells of church that did sing
oh, and songs of peace they were
and now just peace it is!
The yell of the heart rang
above the yell of men in steel,
no, not a coward it was
but the yell of the bravest king!!
Yet its all quiet now,
like a dome to death does bow,
A lull after a raging storm,
like a child crying himself to sleep!
Oh, what silence there reigns now,
and yet I know not how,
All the world is just for me,
I just want to sleep!!

poora samajh nahi aaya, but awesome poem!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletehehe... considering u failed to fully understand I can very well believe it to be good ;)
ReplyDeleteu see, the better a poem or a physics theory is, lesser the people who understand, and yet somehow more the number of people who appreciate! :P :D
silence provoke the scream,
ReplyDeletenoise does tend to silence,
this is recursion of the tumult mind.....
does the sleep point to the fearless still pool in your poem ??? OR
Is it the silence after the war of your own memories??
Anyway its a nice poem.:)
